I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, you say, but can you even cook with those nails?
The kitchen is more than just a place where we reheat yesterday's leftovers and make packed lunches. It's a creative space, a workshop. A place where inventions happen, where unpaid labor takes place, where you're at home but also working. A place where nature and culture meet in soups and stomachs and moldy containers in the back of the fridge. A place where we simmer, coagulate, transform and preserve. It's the witch'sworkshop, a place where homemakers burry their fingers in sourdough and stressed-out chefs snort lines from shiny cleaver knives.
