The coprolites, which make up the eyes and mouths of the scupltures, can be seen as concrete metaphors for inventions that surpass their creators' compre- hension and have unintended consequences: Maybe 10,000 years ago, someone had a shit, but the result didn't disappear, as these things usually do, so now we will have to deal with the it.

As new technologies are developed with increasing speed, their combined effects are difficult to predict. And with the promises of profit, comfort and improved living conditions, the incentives to slow down and consider the implications are not great. These works are like a family, where the shit is passed on to the next generation. Our weaknesses will shape our technology, but who will deal with it, if things don’t go as planned?
